CHS teacher Ashli Knoell stands with Superintendent Cleveland, Mayor Gregg Hull, officials with the Milken Foundation and other peers

CHS STEAM and Robotics teacher Ashli Knoell received a New Mexico Milken Educator Award today! Dubbed the "Oscar Award for teachers," the Milken Educator Award is one of the most prestigious awards an educator can receive and has honored outstanding educators across the country since 1987. Candidates for the award are sourced through a confidential selection process and reviewed by blue ribbon panels appointed by state departments of education.

Ashli's dedication to science education is palpable in the classroom, and her passion for teaching reflects on everything that she does. Not only does she teach three different levels of STEAM as well as robotics classes, but is also the coordinator for the Near Peer program at Cleveland and is involved with the International Society of Technology in Education's professional learning communities.

On top of nationwide recognition, a lifetime membership to the Milken Educator Network, and an all-expense-paid trip to the 2024 Milken Educator Awards Forum in Los Angeles, Ashli was awarded a $25,000 prize for her efforts in furthering excellence in education!

To say that we are proud of Ms. Knoell is an understatement of gargantuan proportions! We are honored to have such a bright beacon of light in our district and we look forward to witnessing Ashli continue to ignite our students' potential every day! Stay tuned to the RRPS social media pages for updates on her incredible achievement!
